This route was created by Blenio Bike, the reference association in the Blenio Valley for the promotion of mountain bike activities.

The name of the route is inspired by the ancient bailiffs (landfogti) who, on behalf of the sovereign cantons, administered the Blenio bailiwick from 1515 for over three centuries. The route leads through the middle Blenio valley via Lottigna, where the monumental landfogti palace from 1500 is located, now home to one of the canton’s 10 regional ethnographic museums.
